Buenos Aires, Feb 2 (NA) – Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno announced this Monday that Argentine citizen Gustavo Gabriel Rivara, who was arbitrarily detained in Venezuela, “has been released.” “Argentine authorities have maintained permanent contact with Rivara and his circle since his release,” Quirno said on social media X. “Today he presented himself at the Embassy of the Argentine Republic in Colombia, where he was provided with the necessary assistance and the corresponding personal documentation was issued,” expressed the Argentine foreign minister. The Ministry “continues to closely monitor his situation, as well as that of all our citizens arbitrarily detained, and is available to continue accompanying him,” the statement adds. “The Argentine government once again demands the Venezuelan regime for the immediate release of Nahuel Gallo and Germán Giuliani, who continue to be illegally detained, as well as all those deprived of their liberty,” the official note highlights. In turn, Senator Patricia Bullrich stated on X: “Gustavo is coming home! News that brings us joy after his arbitrary and illegal detention by the Venezuelan dictatorship.” The former Security Minister emphasized that “Nahuel (Gallo) and Germán (Giuliani) are still missing, and all political prisoners must be released.” The Venezuelan portal ReporteYa published that Gustavo Rivara's sister, Patricia Rivara, confirmed to @ForoPenal that the Argentine citizen “has already been released” and that “he was arbitrarily detained since 1/1/2025”.
